HTC Hero...help needed for data package settings!

Does anyone here have a HTC Hero and are using it on etisalat?

I got mine a couple of days ago...

not officially supported by Etisalat so had to manually configure the data package settings (i.e. in order to use internet through mobile)... configured a new APN and stuck in 'etisalat.ae' under APN settings (all other fields blank)..

worked fine for a couple of days...however was getting killed on the cost per MB (AED 20) so decided to subscribe to a AED25/month 10MB data package... did that today..

however now my mobile internet does not work ...settings above remained unchanged, so not sure what has happened...

all I can think of is that I downloaded a few apps from the android store (taskkiller, google sky and backgrounds)... but those shouldn't affect it!...

does anyone know how to get the mobile internet working again?

(Etisalat are of no help since the handset isn't on their list)

A little Googling: same settings as Nexus one? When you Google there are also other suggested settings in various places. Have you tried the SIM in other phone so you know the mobile data is actually working (I mean your package)?

    hello
sorry for the late response... internet access was down for a few weeks!

finally got it to work now... it seems my data package subscription had blocked pay as you go data services until the first day of the data package service kicked in...all ok now

    phew!
