Experienced Entourage 2008 users

Just bought a new MacBook (2.4Ghz) while in the US. Trying to use Mail instead of Entourage since see some limitations there... anyway, having used MS Outlook for a long long time, I find a few things missing from Entourage that perhaps someone out there knows answers to, which will make me go back to Entourage since Mail has issues too!

1- Apparently I can't forward or reply to complex HTML messages (and retain their look) unless I forward it as attachments
2- When replying to someone's emails, if one wishes to make a comment in the body of the original message, there's no way of marking out one's reply except by manually changing the colour of that text.
3- I can't see Arabic text in my emails or headers, whereas in Leopard Mail, it works without any need to specify anything!

Looking forward to being enlightened....

While I don't have any insight (or experience), I would posit that HTML in email is a Bad Thing(tm) generally anyways. Plain text is more efficient and guarantees no usability/viewability problems.

That aside, I would be interested in knowing more about this problem (and any resolution)

Most modern EMail clients handle this in a "smart" way, either through old-school quotation (eg > , >> , >>> , etc) or through silent markup.

A test you may want to try:
Send yourself an email to be retrieved via Entourage, reply in body (I recommend line breaks just for readability), view response on client end. Does it italicize or otherwise mark up your response?

Again though, this goes back to the Bad Thing (tm). See, you have no way of knowing that the recipient will be able to properly view your formatting. For example, I choose to receive all email in Plain Text. So I would see your response with no differentiation.

Just an observation.

No clue, but another thing I would be interested in knowing about.

Good Luck, and Welcome!

Entourage doesn't support Arabic.
It sometimes appears but its not the rule.

Another issue I've faced on Entourage (12.1) is any email sent out from entourage never shows up on any other client like Outlook 2003 or on my blackberry. Although it has been configured for Exchange and our smtp servers have been correctly defined a copy of the mail is not stored anywhere else. Dont want to try POP and IMAP as there are a lot other issues related to them also.

I am not sure if this has been discussed in the forums here before but has anyone faced issues with Entourage syncing to iCal. I have a timezone issue as invites and meeting requests arrive with the wrong time. Wonder y.

Hi am55555, fatboyzlim, hanzo, and all experienced Entourage users,

I am new here, and, while you all seem to be advanced users, I am still stuck with setting up my email accounts on Entourage. They work on Mail but I would like to use Entourage because, I think, it is closer to Outlook, the email client i was using before coming to the UAE.

Can anyone help? I tried and tried.. (I can call if you prefer). That would be great. Thank you.
