Unhappy iTunes not recognizing iPhone but Windows still can.

    Hello!

I'm having a problem with iTunes and it seems that it won't detect my iPhone unless it's in recovery mode.
I initially thought it was a jailbreak issue after I updated to iOS4, but I tried it on another PC and iTunes recognized it.
Therefore I concluded that the problem was with iTunes.
I ran the Diagnostics Tool in iTunes and the report it gave me was:
1- iTunes Helper is not working
2- No iPhone, iPod, or iPad was connected to the PC. Even though my iPhone was plugged in.

Any suggestions to what may be wrong?

Fangpyre, you should be fully aware of my OCD by now; EVERYTHING IS UPDATED!!!
I'm trying out different solutions and checking out the Support on Apple's website.

You guys keep throwing stuff at me and I'll see if it works.

By the way, I've already tried:
    1- Checking the services
2- Apps that boot on startup
    3- Installing/Re-installing
    4- Defragmenting
    5- Cleaning out my Registry

Worst-case scenario is I'm gonna have to format my PC, yes I'm that desperate.

I need to check, but your problem is with the drivers.
You need to somehow reinstall the drivers for it to work.

Thanks for the tips but I finally got it to work.
I uninstalled anything Apple related, my computer suddenly became faster lol, and I deleted all the folders related to iTunes, and any Apple related product from Program Files and AppData in the User folder. I did leave the iTunes Media File alone, since it has all my music and podcasts.
    Restarted.
    Installed, and it works great!

After reading about 300 other pages with suggestions on how to make this work, I finally read yours which said to uninstall everything Apple related. So far, that's the only thing that has worked out of a countless number of options. Thanks!

reinstallation is so far the best solution. sometimes when it gets too technical i just belive in deleting and re-installing.
