    iPod Videos Lost!!!

    Hey I Need Some Help,
So I have the new 5G (?) iPod with the video camera and I was naming videos in my computer files (DCIM/Videos) and I went to iTunes to eject my iPod and I lost all my videos (on my iPod), [but the videos are still in the files on my computer but I can no longer watch them from my iPod the 2nd part to the video (the DAT file (?)) is not there anymore is there anyway to get the videos back on my iPod? What makes a video or a picture saved on your comuter able to be seen on the actual iPod?

Not sure I understand what you've done. To get any media on to the iPod it'll have to go through iTunes.

Actually, unlike the iPhone and iPod Touch, any iPod can be mounted as USB drive. (And yes, the latest with video camera is 5G.) Just select the "Enable disk use" checkbox in iTunes (somewhere under Devices > iPod...) and the iPod will mount as a drive volume on your desktop whenever you connect it. Then you can access the DCIM folder, move or rename images and videos, etc. Is that what you did?

But, in that case iTunes should not be sync'ing your iPod anymore(?) which means the videos should remain as is. Whereas if you let iTunes sync your iPod then you cannot access the DCIM folder manually anymore... So this is confusing.

Anyway, if the videos are on your computer, then all you need to do is to add them to iTunes, and enable auto sync... Then iTunes will move them to your iPod.

PS: for iPhone and iPod Touch there is always the excellent iphone-explorer.
    Cheers,
    -Michl
