I already upgraded earlier, no problem... be warned that it's quite a large download, ~300MB.
That might be for iPhone OS 4.0, as the rumor goes...
But then again, who needs multitasking anyway?
available now....!!!
battery level improved and some crashes bug improvements.... only this....!!!!

A smooth transistion. Lets see how good it is now.
The best way to a man's heart, is through is tummy!!!
So you're saying that you wouldn't like the ability to have multiple apps open at the same time? How is one supposed to use apps like IM, navigation, ebook readers without multi-tasking? One phone call and bam!!! - other apps close.
Not very user friendly IMO. If not for backgrounder and Kirikae, i'd be pretty pissed with my iPhone!
...call recording apps runs in background..... need multitasking OS and some other apps, and hope in OS 4.0.... it will be. Android have Multitasking... when iPhone will update this feature....!!!
I am using iPhone when 1st it was launched..... and now 3GS, in some way... you can say no but its features and application are more advanced than others. Sync with mac, iDisk, gallery, compass, ipad, safari, mail.... and its third party application for more fun.... what else we need.
OS 4.0 features you can see here also.

Yes, I've been pushing these "heretic" ideas is a couple places, most notably this thread about the iPad...
First thing to realize is that Apple is not aiming at the geeks and power users, people who want a Mac Pro in tablet form... Second, most users need only the most basic form of multitasking, the like that is already in iPhone / iPad to a large extent, that allows the OS to catch on calls and messages and other notifications or playing your favorite tune while you're reading that e-book or surfing the web or playing a game...
As I said in the other thread we are switching app, not multitasking. When you answer a call yes your e-book reader app closes and the phone app opens, and when you're done talking the phone app closes and you can continue with the e-book right where you left... As Magnus pointed out again just now, if the app state is 100% persistent and the app opens/closes "instantly" then that is all most people need.
Now if you're going to say that you may want to answer that phone call while still looking at the e-book, then I agree that Apple needs to extend their current backgrounding / multitasking scheme to other apps than the iPod or phone, etc.
Personally I would much rather that Apple opens their full API to all third-party apps, which would allow USB-file sharing for one [update: looks like they will], or to allow third-party PIMs such as Pocket Informant to raise alarms/notifications, etc.

Errmmm....i think we all share different perspectives when it comes to this so lets just leave it at that![]()
Sure, no problem. But I think discussion is fun, exchanging ideas is good... besides that's how we can learn new things, discover other ways...
If we'd just "leave it at that" then probably 90% of posted threads would disappear, with only boring factual announcements remaining :-)

It's worth noting that the Dev Team (the people behind Pwnage) think this is a redundant update designed to flush out new exploits they may be holding onto in anticipation of the real big update that's coming up - whether that be OS 3.2 or 4.0). They say they're not going to fall for it, and for most people just to skip this one unless they're obsessed with having the latest OS version at all times. Read 7th paragraph down.
