Can anyone recommend one that can be bought here in the UAE?

Or are they useless given the congested line-up of stations on FM in this part of the world?

If u have other options it would be better.
But there are tons on the market.
Just make sure u get one that connects to the cigarette lighter.
Don't take one that powers via the iPod/iPhone itself or takes batteries.

Hmm. I'd like to know as well. The last time I got a Griffin it was a problem. The last time I got a zune transmitter also it was a problem. Problem is too much of noise and interference and I think its because of the congestion.

That is a problem with FM transmission.
You need to find a strong one and then look for a clear channel with little interference.
Even then, things change from area to area.
Some people hack the transmitters to give them bigger antennas.

Like I said, if u have other options go for those.
