Well it really depends how much you're willing to pay... Also if sound quality is your priority, if having full telephony features is a must, if you want wireless i.e. a Bluetooth headset, also what size you're comfortable with, etc.

Best set I ever tried is the Sennheiser MM50iP, excellent for both listening to music and making phone calls.

The one I have is the less expensive but really good iHarmonix iHX Platinum. (Got it at Singapore airport last summer for about USD 50...)

A friend of mines swears by his Etymotic headset - HF2 is the name, I think. Had a few Sure models before, also recommended.
    Cheers,
    -Michl

Thanks michl for your helpful suggestions.

I lean toward the in-ear kind of headphones and the main use is for the phone not much on listening to music. Money isn't an issue if I'll get excellent quality.

The problem that I face with the model that comes with the iPhone is that many people I talk to cannot hear me well .

Well honestly the headphones bundled with the iPhone are nothing but average, to say the least (they make cute earrings though). First thing any music lover would do is go buy proper headphones. Which is bit of a shame on Apple side, IMO. Same for the mic.

You might want to check this website. Also Bose, Sennheiser, Scosche, Etymotic, are all really good. (I know there is no Apple Store here, but this is useful to check features, compatibility, etc. Otherwise iStyle carries many of those. Also Jumbo Electronics...)
    Cheers,

    Surely I'll check them out.
Jumbo is in my town; I'll see what they have before deciding.
    Thanks again.

    Thanks.
I got the Monster Turbine Pro last week at CES and I must say they're excellent. Wonderful clarity in the music. Expensive though and there are no iPhone/iPod controls on them.

Shure are very good IF you like the over the ear wearing style. Anything from the SE102 (cheap), 410 through to 530s (really top class). Shure also make a Music Phone Adaptor that lets you control the iPhone same as the bundled buds. Shure earphones are modular so any of the 'phones will work with the MPA.
