iPhone 3GS Etisalat PostPaid Plans

Hi guys,

Sorry if this question has already been answered. Tried searching the forum but for some reason the search function isn't working for me.

Question: Anyone here purchased the iPhone 3GS from Etisalat with Post Paid plan? I'm considering 'Plan 3' and was wondering if anyone has had problems with their billing and/or phone in general.

Well since no one bothered with this, I'll answer it myself!



I opted for Postpaid Plan 3:

- No upfront charges but 449/- Dhs per month rental which includes

- 500 Mins talk time / month
- 300 SMS / month
- 2 GB Data / month

Got it on the 23rd of December. It was, supposedly, activated the same night. I noticed a 119.73/- rental charge when I logged into e4me. I'm not sure how they came up with that amount to be honest but I'm hoping it's to do with the iPhone plan.

Issues started as early as the 24th. I noticed by data was being charged pay as you go!!! After about a million calls, got through to the iPhone department who verified it was a technical error. He said someone would call me in 24hrs. I wasn't expecting anything but surprisingly 25th morning I saw 2 Million+ data units assigned to my account and my data charges reversed. Pleasantly surprised.

But then issue no. 2. Noticed I was being charged for local calls and sms!?! After not having any luck on the phone, walked into the head office last night. They told me the talk time / sms would only be activated next month onwards since I subscribed end of month. Find it surprising since I was charged the rental amount (well some of it) and already had the data.

Fingers crossed, no more screw ups by Etisalat.

1) Did you order it online or get it from an Etisalat shop?
2) From which shop in UAE did you get it?
3) Are the stocks available for the prepaid plan?

A quick reply will be very much appreciated as im in very urgent need of these clarifications.

2) See 1
3) Stocks are not plan dependent. If they have stock you can use it for whatever plan you want.

i FINALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY got my iphone! after months of waiting! thanks a lot for all your info! your info, coupled with a bit of researching, was the reason behind my purchase! and luckily, in Sharjah Sahara Centre, Level-2, Opp Toys-r !us, Near Jackys, there was just 1 16GB black iphone3GS available. So I got that with a prepaid card (infact, the card came free)! phew! now, all that is left is to get it from Sharjah to india. and i will get that on jan 20th! so thats quite a relief!

Information to others: there were 4 pieces of 32GB iphone3gs black available today afternoon, when I got my phone! so all those who are interested, can rush in!

Did you try the numbers I've listed above? You need to keep calling every day till ur lucky.

Etisalat claims they all shops were out of stock for 12 days now.
And have no idea when they will be available.
