Well since no one bothered with this, I'll answer it myself!
I opted for Postpaid Plan 3:
- No upfront charges but 449/- Dhs per month rental which includes
- 500 Mins talk time / month
- 300 SMS / month
- 2 GB Data / month
Got it on the 23rd of December. It was, supposedly, activated the same night. I noticed a 119.73/- rental charge when I logged into e4me. I'm not sure how they came up with that amount to be honest but I'm hoping it's to do with the iPhone plan.
Issues started as early as the 24th. I noticed by data was being charged pay as you go!!! After about a million calls, got through to the iPhone department who verified it was a technical error. He said someone would call me in 24hrs. I wasn't expecting anything but surprisingly 25th morning I saw 2 Million+ data units assigned to my account and my data charges reversed. Pleasantly surprised.
But then issue no. 2. Noticed I was being charged for local calls and sms!?! After not having any luck on the phone, walked into the head office last night. They told me the talk time / sms would only be activated next month onwards since I subscribed end of month. Find it surprising since I was charged the rental amount (well some of it) and already had the data.
Fingers crossed, no more screw ups by Etisalat.
