thanks a lot for the update! too unfortunate that they are selling the phones with elite plan! probably other shops (du/axiom) too would start getting the phones soon! and is the shop that you mentioned inside the dubai airport? also, were they having stock of 16GB phones? and is there even a remote possibility that they would sell the iphone with payg? also, is it 100% safe to get it from fono?
i know i ask too many questions! sorry for the same
!
at the time that i went, they did have stock of the 16GB. I did ask them several times about taking it with Pay as you go, but they said that du has just enforced this policy where u have to take the elite plan. the shop is not in dubai airport, it is in a shopping mall in Dubai called Mall of the Emirates. I've never bought anything from fono before but it seems to be a reputable shop with branches all over Dubai, so yes, I do feel that it is 100% safe to buy from them - or anyway, at least as much as buying from axiom. I think Axiom and fono have similar arrangements with du.
@jmcmen999, the prices I saw last week at Sharaf DG were much higher than that.
In fact I posted a blog on that a few days back on Shufflegazine.
@arunkumar, they sell them without warranty, which was the case for the iPhone before Du and Etisalat came in. But for a 16GB it's not a bad price if it is right.
Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.
I popped into Axiom last night (Mall of Emirates) and bought a 32gig black iPhone 3Gs and a pay as you go sim card. They said to me that I didn't need to sign up for an Elite plan.
Hi all, Yesterday I went to Axiom in marina mall Abu Dhabi to collect my iPhone, they told me that I cant buy it without an Ellite Plan, and as am a student I can not buy the Ellite Plan, So I did not buy the iPhone.
There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
This is real rubbish. Axiom need to get their act together and make some kind of announcement regarding this. Even more, I think Du need to speak to them to find out what they are playing at. Either you can buy one on PAYG or you can't. If Du are saying it's not their policy why have Axiom introduced it? Also what about those people who have already bought on PAYG? The way companies operate here at times is a complete joke. Total shambles really![]()
