    Tether problems

Hi, thanks for the help, but it doesn't work for me. I've tried so many times and have set the permission to 0755. My phone keeps freezing on the boot logo. I've also tried the quick method with sinfuliphonerepo but still no luck.

I have an iphone 3g on 3.1.2. My iphone is jailbroken and has cydia and openssh etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

extract in desktop....make sure these are on ur desktop

    bspatch.exe
    CommCenter
    CommCenter.patch

then start your command prompt ( goto start run cmd.exe )

    cd Desktop
    bspatch CommCenter CommCenter-hacked CommCenter.patch

on windows you'll use winscp to ssh to your iphone...

You iphone ofcourse needs to be JB, and have openSSH installed n on... make sure you CHMOD the CommCenter file to 0755 before you reboot ur iphone....

Just received an SMS from Etisalat saying that Tethering is now enabled for iPhone 3GS, there is a link on Etisalat's web site to further details and states that you need to update carrier settings through iTunes:

    Tethering - No WiFi required

    Good news

Good news from Etisalat, but can we update the carrier setting without updating the software from iTunes.

    Yes you can.
    But be careful.
Each is separate, but both are done thru iPhones.

Why would you not want to upgrade the phone's software? I did this, was that a bad idea?
P.S. I updated the carrier settings through iTunes as prompted but I still don't have tethering options!

    My iPhone is originally locked

I have a non etisalat iPhone unlocked by blackra1n with 3.1.2 firmware. I am not sure that the carrier setting update will promote for me if I update it with iPhone. also I will lose the unlock & the jailbreak. Can we get the new ipcc file from etisalat.

@jliley, There is no reason not to update

    @Abuhnida, don't update a locked phone.
Etisalat can't give it to u.
    iTunes will push it eventually.
