    hi,
the etisalat people are telling me that their iphones are NOT factory unlocked, and that they are locked to etisalat. but i dont believe them. so in order to be sure, if i see this particular model number (MC151A/B) in the etisalat iPhone3GS's box, can i confirm that it is a factory unlocked phone? please confirm.

in other words, if i get an iPhone3GS with model no. MC151A/B either from etisalat or du, can i confirm that they are factory unlocked?

So that is to say, that all du iPhone 3G[s]'s are also factory unlocked? Regardless of whether the numbers provided here match any on the box that I will buy? If anyone could answer me, as I will be buying one this Wednesday and want to be absolutely sure, as the people at du did tell me that it is factory unlocked but I still want to be absolutely sure before I spend my hard-earned cash on it.

Yes, if you've read other threads on this site and kept up with Shufflegazine it should be clear that both Etisalat and Du iPhone 3GSs are factory unlocked. If you want to be absolutely sure, check the model on one of the boxes.

    Smile New serial number

I think that mb489t/b from italy is also unlocked from factory as i just purchased iphone 3g in nigeria with the above number and it came from italy and used my sim with the iphone out of the box. No need to jail brake or anything.
    Please confirm my assumptions.

Well you can always RESTORE the iphone from itunes and then check if your sim card still works to be 100% sure
