iphone Tethering test

this my Experience about iphone Tethering OS 3.0


i dont know if its allrdy posted b4

anyway this is how its work

open safari

go to help.benm.at/help.php


scroll down


u will see 2 Mobileconfigs option

1 with download option


and 2nd with create


Chose the 2nd with creat

at the APN write

etisalat.ae

for the both APN
mobile internet and visual voicemail

leave the username and password blank


scroll down a littel and turn ON Enable Tethering

thn GENRATE

thn install


now go

settings > genral > network > internet tethering > turn it on

i test usb connection and its working great

about bluetooth didnt test it yet

The only problem with this method is you can only set the APN for MMS, or for tethering, not for both at once.

hi guys

i follow evrything on OS 3.0 FAQ post
and evrything showup
Internet tethering and celluar data network

i tried the Internet tethering with USB and its perfect

thn i try the mms and it was not working
soo i checked the cellular data network

the mms APN was
etisalat.ae
and user & password both blank
MMSC: mms/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 10.12.0.30:8080

i fill all Fields with same info on the post

APN: mms
Username: mms
Password: mms
MMSC: http://mms/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 10.12.0.30:8080

and its work good

the problem now i went to setting> general>network

the Internet tethering is showing up
and i try to connect by USB
2 sec and the Internet tethering disappear

i reboot my iphone and check the network option again but no Internet tethering option showing
and cellular data network option still up

i check the mms and its still working

soo i did somthing stupid and rest setting in cellular data option
and guess wht the Internet tethering option pop up and its working
but with another problem which is i cant use mms cuz it must be edit with the mms setting

soo the Conclusion
i cant use both mms and Internet tethering same time
to use Internet tethering i must rest mms setting
and to use mms i must fill the mms setting again

any Idea or did i miss somthing ?

Hi bado0o0ry,

Welcome to the forums, and thanks for the detailed post. You should remove any profiles you may have installed. Did you ever install a .mobileconfig file?

For some reason the mobileconfig method 'locks' the data and MMS APNs so they become the same.

once you remove the .mobileconfig you should be able to input the correct settings.

couldnt find mobileconfig i installed

so i upgrade to 3.0.1
thn rest to factory & jailbreak & unlock
took about 20+ mins
but its fun as first time to break and unlock
