iPhone 3G S release date.

I'm not sure I'd see the announced 3G price reductions as 'significant' as as mentioned in the articles I've seen. 2400 for an 8G is still pricey. On PAYG in the UK these can be had for 2000 AED and that's in a country that levies 15% tax!!!! You could doubtless claim that back if you were there and exported. A Jailbreak and unlock is less of a concern for me that it was before.

The 16G is dropping by 275 AED or so. Hardly significant on a 3000+ AED phone. I've seen no mention of the 1600 deal mentioned above anywhere. Unless that is referring to some data/call package which I've not looked at. At the moment I find it easier to compare PAYG prices.

Given that comms technology is often sited as one of the significant plusses here, availability of current equipment tends to cast a shadow on that plus point.

found a brand new iphone 3gs (32gigs) for 3,500/- factory unlocked....

i have been waiting since AUG... but cant wait any more??!?!?!?

i have a 3g from Etisalat which i will sell and continue to use the plan on the new 3gs till feb 2010??~?~?~?

I hope the pricing is attractive. I can't figure out the reasons for their atrocious pricing on iPhone whereas they seem to be offering decent pricing on Blackberry.

Omar Muzakki, Etisalat’s vice president for consumer marketing told albayan news paper, that he can confirm that Etisalat will launch the new Apple iPhone 3GS before the end of the month.

I hope too. I do however have an Australian one lined up in case it isn't. In fact the ONLY reason I'm waiting is because of the iPhone warranty issue where I understand repair/replacement can only be done in country of purchase. Apple seems to be unaware that people travel a lot these days. Pay preminum price for a phone and lose out on warranty cover if you re-locate on a permanent or temporary basis. Nice

Ive almost given up on any future iphone. Dont get me wrong its one of the best phone experience ive had but frankly the blackberry i had, although not as advanced, managed to do the required tasks at almost a fraction of what im paying to Etisalat currently with my iphone plans. Ive had the iphone for near 7months now and im not sure how the transition would go about if they release the iphone 3GS. If only either carriers would provide more options on the iphone it would be really great, the fact that you have to clear out your remaining fee is a killer.

You don't do that on plan 1 with Etisalat where you basically pay full prize up front. Then it's only AED300 to cancel.

funny thing is that i think the shop keeper didn't know the difference from 3G or 3GS

i'm currently updating to 3.1.2
the phone is fast compared to the iPhone3G.. so i'm happy
