IPSW is the update file. What takes you to OS 3.0.1
    IPCC is the carrier settings.
iTunes should see it if you have hacked iTunes as described.

    Thanks, I'd omitted the line:

In order to install the .ipcc file, you will need to enable carrier testing mode in iTunes.

..once I'd done that, things worked.

I can enable internet tethering (I tried via usb), the new network connection starts up in Vista, but the connection is "local only" - i.e. I don't get access to the Internet, any ideas as to why?

Can you do me a favor and try again. But this time, after you get the message, try and switch your iPhone off and on again and then try again.

I tried again, but this time disconnected my laptop's network cable and the Internet tethering worked fine using the iPhone USB cable - thanks for the help.

Internet tethering via bluetooth took a little more time - Without Internet thethering enabled on the iPhone, bluetooth pairing was accepted, Vista looked for a driver and could not find one, I ignored this and then tried to make a bluetooth PAN connection which failed.

After disabling bluetooth on the iPhone and enabling Internet tethering, a message popped up asking if I wanted to enable bluetooth on the iPhone. I answered "yes" and then the bluetooth PAN connection succeeded.

    Mms on du on 3.0.1

    Hi
I found a solution. Please note that mms works on GPRS. So basically u need to switch off edge. U can do this with sbsettings dashboard if u r jailbroken. I also changed my port to 8080. I think this is the solution till du comes up with the iPhone.
