1. Edit the APN and keep it _____ (blank)
2. Switch on 3G & EDGE
3. Restore your Network Settings (General --> Reset --> Reset Network Settings)
4. Switch Off iPhone & Switch it back On again
(Make sure EDGE & 3G remain switched ON on restarting ur Phone)
5. If you have installed SBSettings, make sure u DO NOT have a Data IP address

Phone should work now!!

thanks kenethc. i have edited the apn address....switched on 3G & Edge. Also made sure that i do not have a IP address in SBSettings....i have tried this couple of times and doesnt work. This allows me to make calls but gives "swtiched off" or "unreachable" message to incoming callers.
I think as gierran said i might have to restore my phone. later sometime maybe as I have currently switched to du on my iphone and quite pleased with it. no strings attached, no unfair below the belt punches like etisalat.

Did you restore your Network Settings as well ???

If that didn't work... then yeah.... restore your OS and setup as New iPhone.... use the .ipcc.... edit APN.... blah blah..... u know the rest by now

i got another older iphone 2G. just to check the call problem I upgraded that phone to 3.0 too. as expected i faced the problem. then i synced the edited .ipcc file...reset the network settings and viola....it worked!!! but very strange and weird is that my iphone 3GS 3.0 did not work following the same procedure. i guess it needs a restore. but now i prefer du over etisalat. i can use 3G service without having to worry abt any unfair play and call problems.
