Thread: How to enable carrier testing mode in iTunes

    Exclamation How to enable carrier testing mode in iTunes

    On a Mac:
    1. Quit iTunes
    2. Launch Terminal in Application>Utilites
    3. Copy and paste the following command into the Terminal window:

    defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

    4. Press Return and quit Terminal
    5. Connect your iPhone and click to launch iTunes from the dock.
    6. Select your iPhone from the list of devices on the left, then hold down the Option key and select "Check for Update."
    7. Select your .ipcc file.


    On a PC:
    1. Quit iTunes
    2. Press Windows Key + R to open the run dialog. Type "cmd" then click OK to launch the command prompt
    3. Copy and paste the following command into the Command Prompt window.

    "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

    4. Press Return and close the Command Prompt window.
    5. Connect your iPhone and click to launch iTunes from your Start Menu.
    6. Select your iPhone from the list of devices on the left, then hold down the Shift key and select "Check for Update"
    7. Select your .ipcc file.

    i did it everthing all right & i am happy to see ETISALAT logo on my iphone but there is no mms setting inside the setting/general/cellular data network i can see
    APN: etisalat.ae
    username : black
    password : black

    Visual voicemail
    APN : blank
    username : blank
    password : black

    what should i do.
    i installed d latest <etisalat_ae_v1.5.ipcc> file from on of your blog..

    please help me

    No sir, I am using 2G iPhone & I aslo want to ask u I installed ACTIVATEMMS from cydia I can see the settings now but what is the MMS setting I have to put in that & in my iPhone there is no Internet tethering setting in any setting so I have to ask u how can I setup that & it is useful ? Please send me MMS setting soon waiting for that...

    For the 2G there is another thread that explains how to enable MMS on it, as it is not available by default.

    Apple does not officially support iPhone 2g tethering. Please check our OS 3.0 FAQs and Apple's User Guide For iPhone OS 3.0 before posting.

    Thanks Everyone. i think i did it almost right but... MMS still not working & there is no Tethering setting in anywhere....

    1. Problem is when i type in MMS setting under d setting/general/Network/Cellular Data Network/.. & i am going to send MMS but it is not going it showing me error (!)

    & Then I Again going to check my setting under setting/general/Network/Cellular Data Network/.. Everything is erase in MMS & Visual Voicemail Is Not There After i edit setting in mms & then d mms feilds are going erase again....

    This Is By Default Setting
    Cellular Data
    APN: etisalat.ae
    Username. (Blank)
    Password. (Blank)

    Visual Voicemail
    All Fields (Blank)

    & MMS
    APN:
    USERNAME:
    PASSWORD:
    MMSC: mms/servlets/mms
