Did'nt Etisalat already provide one yet? 3.0 is already mentioned on their website along with tethering and MMS mentioned too. Have you asked them about it? Something tells me they only provide for those who purchased the iphone from them.

I don't think so. You can request a carrier update by using *122*#, but since I upgraded to OS3.0 it tells me my phone isn't supported.

The carrier update file is given to Apple by the carrier.

The carrier can push the update out by MMS, or by providing it to apple. Itunes checks http://phobos.apple.com/version every time you plug in you phone. That's why you get the "A new carrier update is available" message when you plug your iphone into itunes sometimes.

Just tried the *122*# and yupe doesnt work here aswell. I think i had the same problem with WinMo device aswell. These methods only seem to recognize mostly Nokia devices, SE and Samsung. Well either way thanks to Gierran we might not have to do any of that since everything so far works.

This has solved also my APN issues as I sometimes disable it manually.

Tethering is not visible and I don't mind that as I'm not going to use the tethering anyway.

Thanks for the great support guys.

UPDATE: after I hit the reset in the Cellular Data Network, all is showing up including Internet tethering.
