iPhone 3G - tethered internet on etisalat!

Please use the newest one. It is mostly the same, but I improved it slightly based on some new things I learnt in the hackint0sh forums.

Gierran, i did the last option, clean installation of 3.0, run the trick command since im a pc user, install the latest ipcc file and reboot my phone.
Etisalat logo is there, MMS setting is there, internet tethering is there but unfortunately still the same message appear!!!(

Cellular Data
APN=etisalat.ae
Username=(blank)
Password=(blank)

this is the setting which i have after upgrading the ipcc file...
i guess i don't have luck....

Does your phone jailbroken or not?
MIne is not but previously was..but i guess it doesn't matter since i did the clean installation of 3.0

Jailbreaking would have been overwritten when you installed OS 3.0. My phone is also factory unlocked. It was jailbroken before, but reinstalled it since then.

The easiest is to visit help.BenM.at - Mobileconfigs für dein iPhone | BenM.at on your iPhone and follow the instructions to make a .carriersettings file.

I just install the update as the instruction, but then I lost the mms ( mms option On/Off is missing ), then I can not send MMS,
could you help me with this coz I need and use MMS alot

Try reset your iphone. Settings/General/Reset

Asif please try this:

1. Back up your iPhone address book to the one on your computer.
2. Do a clean install of OS 3.0. Do NOT restore from backup. Select the option to set up a new phone. Then sync contacts application etc as you like.
3. Install the .ipcc file I attached to this post using the method mentioned at the top of the post.
4. Check your apn settings and let me know if they are working!

1) Restore my phone, create new sync profile and update your settings. No luck same problem.
2) Then I restore the phone again and after restore I update the firmware again then update your settings and Booooooom its works........

Try reset your iphone. Settings/General/Reset

thanks qierran, now its all working ,,,just one problem the tethering need to set up, and it is said "...cantact etisalat for internet tethering set up for this account.." any thing I can do about this?

Andra, try reinstall the ipcc using the settings file attached, and by enabling carrier testing mode in itunes. Instructions to enable carrier testing mode here.
