New iPhone Etisalat Logos

Szayat, did you update the Carrier Settings in iTunes when it asked you? You need to do this AFAIK, so that the Etisalat carrier data becomes 'etisalat' in lower case letters instead of the old 'ETIS...'.

After that, the logo should display just fine once you follow dicer999's instructions.

iTunes never prompt me to do so! is there any other way to edit the settings?

Woah, you have a ton of logos in there. Try deleting all of the logos then put in the modded logo's. (Back them up first!)

If your iPhone is factory unlocked, is it a Hong Kong or Italian iPhone? Maybe the two phones have different ways of operating or something. Mine is an Italian iPhone, and has only ever had my Etisalat SIM in. Haven't been on any other carriers via roaming either. You can find out by Googling the Model number (System > About).

its not factory unlocked as I see AT&T logo all over the box. however, iphoneexplorer crashes each time I click and delete any carrier logo other than etisalats'.

OK, instead of anything drastic, first do this - Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. This will erase the Network settings (don't worry - you won't lose anything, just reset the carrier/wifi settings).

Then on the next itunes sync, it should ask you if you want to update the carrier settings, which you should, then the logo in the right hand corner will say 'etisalat', as well as all the Etisalat carrier settings being automatically updated under Settings>Phone. You don't even have to re-input the 3G settings or anything - it will be set for you.

THEN, you can follow dicer's instructions - and replace the logo files, respring, and you're done!

@Thamir: Unfortunately it didn't work, I have the latest iTunes and I already reset my iPhone couple of time, however, its jailbroken already.

This might be a silly question, but did make sure you were online at the time you synced to iTunes after resetting the Network Setting? iTunes needs to be connected to the internet at the time.

You and I have the same model iphone - bought mine in New York last summer. However, as dicer mentioned, you do have a lot of logos in that operator bundle folder - the folder should be for Etisalat only, and it only appeared there after I updated the carrier settings.

Are you using a proxy sim solution (TurboSim, etc) or yellowsn0w? If it's a TurboSim, get yellowsn0w from Cydia or Installer, and get rid of the turbosim, and that should solve the problem. Let us know how you get on.

lol, no question is silly! iTunes is connected to the internet, iPhoneExplorer crashes when I try to delete the other operators logos and I'm using yellows0ow of course!

Wow, i did not expect a lot of people to have problems changing the logo... i didnt expect it to be that hard... but i had to try it 3 times till i got it... but i tried it on the 1st gen iPhone not the 3G...

this is what i have noticed, or else it wont work...

ur iPhone should be on 2.2...
then u should have ur iPhone Jailbroken
then u plug it in again till iTune prompts u a small window saudgesting u upgrade the new Carreir information it has for ur iPhone... after u update that... u can get in and change the logo.. and with a simple restart of the iPhone, the logo will pop up and look very sleek...

MINE IS IPHONE 2G 2.2 JAILBROCKEN....

i was using iphone PC SUITE its very nice software.....but please bfore u start your job update the software via internet.....

1. PUT YOUR 2 FILES IN THIS FOLDER...BUT KEEP ALL THE FILE WHICH ARE EXISTING..
/User/Library/Operator Bundle.bundle/

Note: make a backup for carrier.plist
2. NOW OPEN carrier.plist YOU CAN SEE ITS SHOWING MANY CARRIER NAMES
WHAT U HAVE TO DO JUST EDIT ONE YOUR CARRIER SEEE THE EXAMPLE....

see the carriername O2-UK just change this to etisalat....
