Are you using etisalat or du, i am using du and it keeps disconnecting, and the etisalat sim does not work (5 dots)
If, like me, you had a "bricked" 3G iPhone after updating to 2.2 (almost certainly meaning that your phone has been hardware unlocked), you may want to try eating some yellowsn0w.
It worked for me
Can't go into details of what to do here due to site policy (which I respect), but a bit of Googling should set you on the right path![]()

Follow instructions for yellowsn0w carefully... works on both du and etisalat...

Hello Forum,
Please Help!!
I have just returned to Dubai and have put my Etisalat Sim Pay As You Go back into my iphone, however it isn't recognised anymore.
While I was away I updated my standard old 8gb iphone to firmware 2.2.
I usually use Zibri to unlock the phone but it doesn't seem to unlock it for my Dubai Sim but does for my UK 02 sim card.
If anyone can tell me how to unlock my old 8gb iphone 2.2 for an etisalat pay as you go phone I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

I swapped my G1 with Gerald for this iPhone 3G and while yellowsn0w works, its a bit flaky. After a restart, I have go into mobile and re-initialize yellowsn0w quite a few times and even after that wait for quite some time to get a signal. Hopefully future betas will make this easier.
