itunes store not supported in this country

    Hi

itunes on my iphone has worked fine since I got the phone 6 weeks ago (official unlocked phone from Hong Kong / UK itunes account).

However, today when I try to connect I get the message "the itunes store is not supported in this country".

The problem appears to be intermittent as it works ok again after several attempts (then stops again).

My app store, wifi, mail, safari etc are all ok.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    Thanks

    Hi Shawn

There is a solution. My site Tunecard.biz Order Form offers an innovative way for overseas customers to acces Apple iTunes US store as a customer. Buy a prepaid account from us and you get instant acceess. Then simply topup using paypal payment.

Tunecard is an advertiser on EmiratesMac and Shuffle.

    Thanks

I am aware of your excellent services and have used them in the past but this does not solve my problem.

    - I have a valid UK itunes account
    - I am able to make purchases through my computer
    - Up until a couple of days ago I was able to make purchases through my iphone
    - I now get the following "country not supported" message intermittently

I understand the various restrictions and differences to the International stores.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

    Shaun
P.S do you have any plans to start selling UK tunecards?

I think the orginal poster is saying that he is unable to open iTunes from his iphone as soon as it opens it would get the message "the itunes store is not supported in this country".

Actually even I do get the same message. Could you explain how would buying an prepaid account card help with this?

As I understand if you could access the store, then you could make an account and download things. But if you can't access the store in the first place, how would having a prepaid account help?

    It wouldn't.

This is a very worrying development. As mentioned in the other thread, if this policy is extended to Apple TV's and even Macs in general, there are going to be a lot of very unhappy people over here.

I think its a bad connection. Not easy for iphone to connect to overseas servers from a mobile phone, despite the claim of Apple and the phone companies about 3G connection- its still patchy.

Sorry, don't think its anything to do with the connection. It used to work fine all up till now, untill we upgraded to 2.2. Also once it connects, it works very well.

It just seems apple is starting to play the game same as microsoft (on the x360), where they ban you to access the store depending on your IP Address.

There is a VPN option on iphone - never used it. But maybe if u use a US VPN it can fool iTunes into thinking ur from the US !

no need to register in iTunes ... i did it and it's useless ... you can convert your songs to ringtone format and enjoy! and transfer your movies as well
but for TV shows i guess you have to register ... i didn't find a solution for that
