Where can i get the Iphone 3g in dubai ?

After a trip to the Dubai Mall today... Plugins have no stock and have had none for over a month. No idea when new stock coming in Sharaf DG have stock of both 8 and 16GB... 2590 or 2990... No warranty, sourced from italy or "other places", and are hacked not factory unlocked (I thought all Italy phones were factory unlocked???). Prices seem to be creeping up...

Sharaf DG told me I would brick it if I upgraded to 2.2.1, but they could fix for AED 250, absolute BS.

I upgraded what was an Italian model (not hacked) and no probs for a few months,

Then...............

No WIFI
Missed cals in sleep mode
No text

Hopefully Version 3.0 on June 17th will cure.

I have the Italian one (Model MB489T) as well and I assure you it's 100% factory unlocked. (Version 2.2.1)

It's been working fine since i got it in September 08 from Al Ain Center in Burdubai.

Any Etisalt branch..I got mine from the one in bin sougat centre...as 3 days ago the wasl branch did not have it, but they called me 2 days ago and said they are selling in the wasl brch too. Basically i think now u can get it in any etisalat brch...AND ALL ARE FACTORY UNLOCKED))

Try deleting all cookies for emiratesmac.com and see if that helps.

Thanks. The 'new post' thingie was a one-off, never-seen-before issue anyway.

The login problem is recurrent, however. Firefox remembers my login for days, and then out of a sudden I have to log in again. Strange, but no biggie...

Does anyone know if there any places in Dubai where you can get iphones unlocked? I've spent ages reading blogs, forums etc trying to work out how to do it, but it all seems a bit over my head (plus many of the jailbreak sites are blocked in the UAE)

any help would be kindly appreciated
