Adding logos of du & etisalat on your iPhone bar

I was finally able to add logos of the service providers on iOS 4.x. As most of you know that syncing *.ipcc files does not work on iOS 4. To make these work you will of course need a jailbroken iPhone with a SSH program on your PC.

    For iPhone 3G/3GS:
    1. Start your SSH program (eg. WinSCP). Goto root--->System--->Library--->Carrier Bundles
    2. For Etisalat: Open folder Etisalat_ae.bundle. Replace the Default_CARRIER_ETISALAT & FSO_CARRIER_ETISALAT logo files from the corresponding zip files attached below. Make sure you use the correct file as per your phone & provider. Similar procedure applies to du (du_ae.bundle)
    3. Respring. You should have the new logos on your status bar.

    For iPhone 4:
The above logo files will not work for iPhone 4 users because of the retina display. The logo files need to be made to higher resolution and renamed as per retina display standards. Follow the same procedure as above but use the corresponding files from below attachment for iPhone 4.

If any problems or doubts mention them here and I will try to resolve them.

So, apologies if this is a dumb question but I am just upgrading to an iPhone 4 (factory unlocked in Canada, but not jailbroken) running OS 4.1.

Does this mean I am unable to have the custom Etisalat logo unless I jailbreak?

    Thanks!

Ah ok. Yeah that's what I thought, thanks for clarifying.

No big deal, guess I'll stick with the ugly stock logo, I used to jailbreak my 2G/3G phones and SSH in to muck about but I just don't have the time anymore...;-)

    cheers.

I did follow the instructions. I am using 3G[s] running iOS 4.1 jb.
For some reason it doesn't work.
Btw the zip doesn't contain info and carrier plist files. I am not sure but might have replaced them earlier.
Can anyone pass me their plist files?
Since its not working i probably must have messed up my files.
Hi. u dont need the .plist files for the logos to work. the .plist's dont work on 4.x anyways. these images are just meant to replace the actual logo png's. the only reason i can think of this not working for u is bcos u either copied files from the wrong zip folder or u copied them to the wrong folder. i have done this for quite a few friends of mine and they all have worked perfectly.
    try repeating the process again.

I tried with the files names you had in your zip file.
why is there an"e" at the end of the carrier file names. the file name should be Default_CARRIER_ETISALAT and same for FSO. that is the reason why your logos are not showing up.
