    About iphone 4 in Dubai.

    Hello guys.

I'm going to Dubai by the end of the year and I was was hoping to buy an Iphone 4. I guess by then it will have been released right? So does anyone know any likely release date for the iphone 4 in UAE?

And another thing, are iphones sold in UAE unlocked? I should buy then directly from the carriers?

    Thanks!

Hi, the iPhone 4 is available in dubai unlocked, you can buy it from the markets but it will be expansive than the carriers price, as i heard that one of the carriers "ETISALAT" will release it in this month "September" but don't know when. My suggestion for you is to wait and get it when the carriers in dubai release it, it will be affordable and if you want to get the white one if you like.

Both carriers, du and Etisalat, have said September.

Perhaps more important than price are two other things: 1) you won't get the special iPhone plans with a gray market iPhone and 2) you won't get any warranty and service with a gray market one.

I agree that it maybe worth the wait to get a local warranty but as for iPhone plans if you recall with the Iphone 3G the plan was nearly 7000dr in the beginning and no bargain especially compared to other countries

Also rumors point to a fixed antenna release, this may delay Etisalat and DU further than September, let's hope not.

I,m not sure if it's correct to say you get no warranty with a official unlocked grey import, just you have to return it to country of origin for repair which will take time and additional expense

Who knows what they will be doing for iPhone 4 but they have been with iPhone 3GS. I've been with them since they launched last year and I've been very happy.

    Hi guys,

I got my iPhone3GS from Dubai (Etisalat) last December; mainly based on the inputs from this forum! So thanks once again for that! Im from India btw.. and Im planning to get the iPhone4 (for my father) once they are out thro Etisalat or Du; thro my cousin in Dubai! I just want to know if the iPhone4 that comes out this September thro Du and Etisalat are factory unlocked or not!

    Thank you!
    Arun !
