I just want to know if the iPhone4 that comes out this September thro Du and Etisalat are factory unlocked or not!
Honestly we won't know that until they're actually out but I'd be very surprised if they are factory locked since the previous ones sold here by the official carriers have all been unlocked.

This is also speculation about a coming event, which neither telco has said much about. If we judge by previous iPhones in UAE both telcos have offered pre-paid alternatives so I would assume that's true with iPhone 4 too when it's launched.

    Hi everyone,

Iphone4 bought from so called grey outlets do offer warranty. E.g. Jumbo electronics offering iphone4 with warranty 32gb for 4800dhs. And without warranty 4500dhs. I just bought one for a mate in turkey.
He travels in and out of Dxb anyway so if any issues the warranty works well.

My iphone4 was bought factory unlocked in UK last month. And it's got warranty.

And even if you need your iohone4 serviced or fixed, there are reliable vendors in the UK and in UAE who can do fine work.

I guess jumbos warranty is they send it back to UK etc for you

I expect that Etisalat/Du Iphones offered on a data plan will be locked for the 1st year or you devoid your warranty like they did with Blackberry

I also expect the their prices will not be competitive relative to the rest of the world factory unlocked phones and initial release will have some premium attached
    Regards
