iPhone 4 microsim issues

Hi guys,


Having an issue with trying to get a SIM to work with my unlocked iPhone 4

I have a blackberry with du, I tried cutting that sim card to work with the iPhone but that didnt work

Then I rang du and asked if they had a microsim I could use, they said yes but for data only, not for phone services, and I have to get a new number, pay 55dh and then 5dh a month.

Any way I can get voice and data with du and keep the same number? or is etisalat a better option and just deal with having to change my number?

Not sure about the Microsim issues but I am guessing your BB is on a DU BB plan. These are not compatible with Iphones. E.g. I take the sim with 3G BIS service from my blackberry, put it in a IP3GS and it will show as not having a data package.

Yeah fully aware I wouldnt be able to use the BB data plan with the iPhone. I was hoping the cut SIM card would at least work in the iPhone for voice/sms. Anyone know if a blackberry SIM is any different to a regular SIM?

Maybe that would explain why it wouldnt work.

My plan is with Etisalat for a Blackberry, but my cut down sim offers everything including Facetime on my IPhone 4.

When I had the 3G I phoned the auto line on Etisalat and opted for the one Gb plan so maybe that's worth a try.

Du is very strange. Several of my friends got du microsims with voice and data, and others went to the same du shop and were told that du only offers data only microsims.

If your friends du sims (postpaid?/prepaid?) work with voice and data, then probably the people at the du shop are uninformed and the same microsim will handle voice and data. Ive found universally the people at Etisalat and du have no idea what they are talking about. I consistently get different information depending on who I speak to...

I'd like to see someone else from these forums chime in that has actually bought one of these microsims and confirm it works...

I have microsims in my 3GS and iPad from etislut and no problems at all ( wasel prepaid)

Were they Postpaid or Prepaid users ?

Thing is after cutting up my Elite Plan Sim,looked into it and how much ever you trim it the Sim Pins will not line up due to the larger Circuit.Whereas the same method works fine with the smaller Circuit Du prepaid sim.I dont see the elite plan default sim working ever since to get it aligned a couple Gold Contacts would have to be cut.
The iPhone constantly shows No Sim installed with it.

Now i need to get a working Voice/Data sim,do i need to submit documents again ?

I've got du and I've just cut my sim up and got the 2 gb plan from them on elite. Works perfectly.

U have to cut up the chip portion a bit. it works on my iPhone. If u want I cab post a pic of my sim ?

Hey karan would be great if you could,donno if its allowed thats exactly what i noticed that the some of the pins need to be trimmed for it to ever work.Did you just go by the template ? and cut anything in way or was it more an after fix?
