    iPhone Youtube Error

    Hi All,

I cannot see some of the youtube videos on the iPhone. I have a iphone 3G and not jailbroken. I get this error message. "The server is not correctly configured".

Has anyone of you facing similar problems? What could be wrong?

    Thanks, Noussh.

Evilryu, thanks for the reply. I have this problem with iphone since i brought the phone 6 months back. It's not due to the recent internet interruptions.

I don't have that problem but, after searching for remedies, it appears there are lots of discussions on Apple forums and other Mac forums, yet few suggestions, even fewer solutions. Still the most likely diagnostic is that it is a proxy or internet settings issue...

One comment on silverwire.net states that "YouTube for the iPhone/iPod/iPad uses multiple HTTP requests for streaming video. This requires HTTP resume to be enabled on your firewall or network security device." So you may want to check your wireless router settings etc.

    Michl, It's working now.

I changed HTTP to enabled applications in Port By-Pass (NAPT). This option comes under Security>>Address Translation. I really don't know what these settings are or it's wise to change these values.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Welcome. NAPT (extension of NAT) is just one of those network transfer protocols.

NAPT "allows the transport identifiers of a number of private hosts to be multiplexed into the transport identifiers of a single public IP address". I'm no expert but that sounds just like what is needed for HTTP resume to be enabled... So that was it, great.
    Cheers,
    -Michl
