Ballpark cost of volume button repair?

    Hi guys,

I've got an original 2G iPhone that has the volume button problem - you only have to give the button the very lightest touch and it cranks the volume down to zero. Does anyone know what kind of price I should expect to pay to get this repaired? I was thinking about going to one of the general phone repair places like Minutes that you find in shopping malls.

    Thanks!

The piece itself costs $30 on iFixit
You will have to find someone to do it for you, and they will charge you for that.

Yes, I know... that's why I asked "Does anyone know what kind of price I should expect to pay to get this repaired?"

But thanks for the link to the part

Around AED 300 - AED 350 i guess. That's what i was charged when i had to get my iPhone 2G speaker replaced.

Btw, i have a similar problem as yours and use the Ringer/Silent toggle app from Cydia as a replacement to the silent switch.

If you need the store's info, let me know and i'll PM it to you.

    Regards.
