The problem with discussing it is it is hacking it.
1) this may tempt people to hack the phone in ways they shouldn't, because they are too novice to do it.
Making it here will make it more accessible.

However, I think as of 3G these hacks have become very easy to do.

2) this is really a Mac forum, and opening those discussions here will drive traffic that wouldn't normally come here.
Of course, traffic is both a good and a bad thing.
My biggest concern is the kind of people that will be coming here.
The nice thing here is that its a nice, calm, and polite environment.
Many of us come here for social reasons, and that's a nice thing.

Anyways...

Lets start by somebody doing the first posts.
We need 1 on how to Jailbrake, and one on how to unlock, i.e. Pwnage and yellowsnow.
Who is willing to write those?

for sure many to ask about it a few to reply lol.
It also has to be made very clear that if anything should/might go wrong the poster should not be held liable.
The person undertaking/jailbreaking the phone should be fully aware incase of consequences.

very detailed on how to go about unlocking your iphone 3g 2.2 on 2.2.8 baseband. Its specific and only for 2.2 firmware.
