What do I need to know about DU connection

With current rent prices dropping like crazy, I decided to move to Dubai Marina. Morning traffic from Sharjah is getting on my nerves so why not, right? So the building that I chose to live in has DU as its service provider. Here in Sharjah, Etisalat via ADSL was my internet connection. I understand that DU does something else. What do I need to know when setting up my internet request and configuring the connection?

Ahhhh... 24Mbit connection... Total nirvana!

Du is definitely got their stuff together better than Etisalat. The tech rep dude that setup my stuff knew his stuff. Answered all the network related questions, knew how to work the Mac and generally was very well trained. I asked him a few questions that usually bedazzle most "technical representatives" here and he answered them correctly and did not even blink.

Internet is very fast. DNS servers are more responsive. TV service is great. Overall I am very happy.

One of my friend in Sharjah is using the same DU connection... Let me consult from him then i will give you a suitable solution...

Du looking better in terms of offers and promotions, but their tech support are dumbest just after etisalat ones. Company that call itself innovative for years cannot implement/buy online billing system - yeah just ask for this ) Content filtering based on Net Sweeper Business so badly installed that anybody smart enough can hack into )) Du's website is classical example of - HOW TO DO BAD WEBSITE - using everywhere-forbidden Flash, small fonts, illogical structure.... very user unfriendly. More over - they hosting on dirty-cheap hosting - shame for ISP company )
