drupal, joomla, plone
Okay, basically i'm looking at establishing a site which hosts material such as videos, images, audio files, and PDF files, as well as possibly a blog type of thing. Also looking for something that's not hard to configure/modify and edit/update. and I really wouldn't want to hand code a site like that, as I simply haven't got the time to do it.
I've heard of CMS such as Mambo and Joomla (currently testing Joomla) , but for those who came across or owning sites hosting the content I listed above, which one do you prefer?

WordPress might also work. Easy to configure and customize, tons of free templates available.
Do any of these support Arabic?
Do you mean for admin or just output of content? There is an Arabic Wordpress. We use the regular Wordpress on Shufflegazine.com and have Arabic in articles, for example this.
I second the wordpress idea. its very basic to use but very powerful. I love it.
I also have some experience with Joomla and Mambo Both very very good.
My suggestion is try them all out. Im not sure what your capabilities are, but many web hosting services include these apps for free. and some are just as easy as a few clicks.
Another vote for Wordpress. It keeps getting better and better

We (friends and I) have just started a site based on Drupal.
Although we initially began with Joomla, we migrated to Drupal for a number of reasons.
After playing around with things like Taxonomy, Modules, Panes, Views, etc. I believe that we made the right choice.

At the end of the day, your choice of CMS really depends on what you want your site to be able to do.
