These numbers pretty impressive only for non-brainer. Test your speed against any USA based host and you will see what's real speed of UAE ))))) nothing close to even 3 Mb/s. What's even worse our ISP are shaping traffic which is affecting VPN connections. Also recent web filtering activity taken by ISP seems pretty disturbing....
/* all these things we'll one day swallow whole and fade out again and fade out again....

    Question

    Hi

I’ve subscribed for Etisalat eLife 16Mbps Triple Play package... and the result was!!!!!! :

I’ve called them couple of times and they said that they'll send som1...anyhow, its been 3 weeks since they've installed the package and it seems they'll take longer to show up again
So plz if any1 knows about this issue let me know if there is any solution

Plus the aztec wireless router they've installed is sooo weak "" even thou they said its about 50 meters distance "" but I couldn’t connect my PS3 which its less than 10 meters away

and one more thing,,, the HD TV they installed " is still currently unavailable " ... so YaaaaaaY ......

So plz if any1 knows about this issue let me know if there is any solution cheers...i guess ?!!

My Internet line-speed is currently supposed to be 4Mb. Yet, we dont use the words Fast and Internet in the same sentence.
We have checked all the cables, restarted all the routers, and even did a direct connection to the WIMAX using the PPPOE-connection.
My Internet speed, when I’m home, is the equivalent of a 512k line…

Recently I was told that many people are home using internet and the bandwidth is used up. It is normal that the internet speed will drop.
I am sorry, but that is not an excuse…!!!???
That excuse is like making a reservation at the Burj-Al-Arab for a 5-course Dinner, arriving and having nothing to eat because many people came for dinner before you, yet they still charge you for the 5-course meal.
Surely there should be some way of ensuring a minimum-speed of some sort?

The last excuse from the technician was that my Router was messed-up. I did a direct connection with the TC, no improvement. I bought a new Belkin router, same issue.
Now I'm waiting for e-life, which will supposedly resolve this. In the interim, I'm still paying 4MB prices for 512k internet.
Been there, done that... Converted to Mac...

    Internet Connection iMac

this is my speed-net result :

    screenshot download.png

although the speed should be OK, it's extremely difficult to use the internet ...!!! Like to say, simple links from an open website ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN after double-clicking them.... Always the same message is coming "...SAFARI IS UNABLE TO OPEN THIS LINK...." Please check Google..blablabla..etc... It's really embarrassing..!! I've invested time and money, but it's really not worth it after all..!! Could somebody tell me if this could be a "SETTINGS"problem, or not..Or what should I do..??
    Thanks for the eventual help..!!

    Speed Test Results from UAE

I have a 16mb double play connection at home, and i'm suffering from the aztech router ( need to restart it every day or two and the signal is weak in a two small bad room apartment ) , but comparing to the 2mb ADSL I had before, this is a big step forward for Etisalat.
