just did and my speed varies from 62 - 70KB something is wrong.

Definately. There is always something wrong. Try download other file sizes from the same website and see if there is a difference.

My latest test... but somehow I doubt these numbers.. cause let's say im downloading a 100mb file right... i see my speed always between 120KB & 140KB. So this is to say it's not where near 2882 or 288KB per second...

sometimes I'm downloading a file from rapidshare (and I have a premium account) or a yousendit.com file...

did you try direct downloads? try downloading a test file from UAELAB (Emirates Telecom Lab) and report your speed here please.

Be careful with these results. The above mentioned website uses http downloads, which will be cached by etisalats proxy. So all you're seeing is the speed accessing the proxy; that does not tell you anything about the actual speed you're getting accessing other content on the internets...

Seems like my connection speed is decreasing - to be quite honest I've noticed a major slowness in my connection over the week... not sure as to why? I mean well - yah ideally the number should match whatever I'm paying, but i mean the connection was just flaming through since I've got DU internet and now well it's a little slower

K - something is really wrong with that site! Now I unplugged my router and connecting straight to the internet via ethernet and testing my speed with the server in Riyahd and look how ridiculous my speed it...???

I think depending how many people in the region are downloading one the same server the connection might fluctuate, if too many people are downloading then your speed of downloading the file on that server (to measure your speed) might be low...

OMG O_o are you f serious? Try downloading files directly from a good server and see if the speed is truely that much...
