i dont get what JOEY means by boosting the speed, the results he showed are actually very very decent... if u pay for a 1mb, u'll get 1mb, u cant get 2mb for the price of 1mb obviously without paying for it....and the slowness that ur expecting might be because of the fact that ur using it thru the rush hours, basically during the day.... try using it at around 11 in the night and u'll be very very content with your speed

If you try a 1MB in a different country, you'll know what he means.
But you're right, for the UAE, those are very decent.

Yepp, we were on a 1Mbps cable connection in the US and it was faster (up and down) and more reliable than our 4Mbps Etisalat DSL. Yes I know there are differences between cable and DSL but still that shouldn't be the case, it seems to me.

Is there a reason why I can't get Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test to test my connection? It just stays stuck on the "pinging" part.

Try to choose a different server, dont choose the yellow one, choose Riyadh server for example.

So Du uses ethernet cables (not copper or coax) to deliver internet access? what sort of modems do you guys use with du's broadband services?

Right now I have a 4Mbps ADSL from etisalat and the maximum achieved speed test result was around 3600kbps in the downlink and 490kbps in the uplink. Am I having problems? I'm still not getting 4mbps... but at least the speed is always consistent (i.e. doesn't flunctuate whether during rush hours or at night or even in early morning).

OMG Joey Dee how in the hell do you have such a super fast upload speed with your 1mbps???!!!

Exactly! You'll know what I mean

2 weeks ago, I got back from home in Canada and I never realized how freaking fast my connection was back home until a month ago...

10Mbps download
1Mbps upload
95GB bandwidth per month (of course to profit off of pirateers)

Price: 54$ per month = 197.10AED how's that comparing to

1M download
256Kbps upload
Unlimited bandwidth

Price: 249AED a month?

Here's my lastest speed test?
IT's good?
