SKYPE and DU? Hey Folks. So does skype load for everyone on Du? What about when you SkypeOut, does it work normally, or you need to be logged into your VPN? Finally on a random note, I just bought the Belkin Wifi Skype phone from the Apple store today (Festival City) and I have been trying all freaking night to log into skype and it's not working. 1. I get an IP address on the Belkin Phone 2. It's deff connected to the my wifi connection 3. It just doesn't log in 4. My MacBook Pro - logs into Skype normally without being on HotSheild 5. I only use HotShield when I SkypeOUt. Does anyone know how I can make my Belkin Wifi signin? Any tips & tricks? Thanks. -Joey

Welcome to the site. This is a tricky question to answer because it most likely involves talking about how to get something that's not allowed in the UAE to work and how to bypass proxy and get services like this to work is not something we talk about on the site. Have you tried asking iStyle for help? I mean they sold it to you

Yah I'm on DU. Skype works on my MAC - when I want to skypeout, I just use HotSheild and I skype out and make calls from my MAC using a headset... So yesterday I bought the BELKIN phone hoping that I can at-least sign in to skype and use it to talk to friends & family who are on skype (not as in skypeout) but turns out I can't even sign in So Im trying to find a way behind this, asking people, u know the same old... to see if there is some genius out there who can help someone out, cause UAE is a monopolized market and I hate the way certain things are in here! I guess if it doesn't work out - at the end of August Im going back to Canada so I'll just give it to my parents to get a hold of me! Let me know if anyone has any alternatives. thanks. -Joey ps: and u r still the most trusted name in the UAE for APPLE products

Considering you connect the phone directly. I can't think of a cheap solution, which would void the whole reason to do this. And I don't think there is much you can do on a simple network solution.

uhmm... so in the words of a passerby, I'm SCREWED BREWED and let's not forget. Tattooed! The above is a Canadian/American expression we like to say alot back home when we're out of luck man I hate when monopolized markets try to force consumers to use their products! Long live VOIP! hahah -Joey
