I have changed the setting number from 5190 to 443 as suggested...then when i get to step 2 (as below) i cannot seem to find Firewall option in System Preferences, its only available in Security. Am i being stupid or!!?

Hope you can help me!
Thanks...Daisydoo22
Hi Daisydoo22,

You are not being stupid -- those instructions are for the Tiger operating system. You are probably running Leopard. The firewall options are now in Security, and I think the iChat AV ports are open. Some users do report problems using iChat in the UAE, but from practical experience I know it works. Most difficulties are caused by poor bandwidth (something outside your control).

Best regards,
DXB Law
