Setting up Etisalat e-mail on my Mac

    Hi

Can anyone tell me what is the correct information to enter into Mail to set Etisalat as my default e-mail server.

I need the information for the: 'General information', 'Incoming Mail Server' and 'Outgoing Mail Server' screens for a new account.

    Thanks

    Prospero

You need to access your account online, activate POP3, use the outgoing and incoming adresses shown and enter them in your mail settings on the mac, enter your username, password..and you should be ready to go.

I'm guessing here since I don't use their email service myself, but could it be pop.emirates.net.ae (incoming mail) and smtp.emirates.net.ae (outgoing mail)?

Incoming mail server is : mail.emirates.net.ae (or mail.eim.ae)
Outgoing mail server is : smtp.emirates.net.ae (or smtp.eim.ae)

If you are outside UAE and wish to use the Etisalat mail server to send mails from your Etisalat account, the outgoing mail server is: exmail.emirates.net.ae (or exmail.eim.ae).

    Hi Pawan

I tried both combinations, but the System keeps saying it cannot connect to the outgoing server. Any suggestions?

Are you using Apple Mail? If so, go to Activity Viewer in Window, that may give you some information.

Can you ping those servers? (Applications > Utilities > Network Utility > Ping tab).

    Incoming Mail Server: mail.eim.ae
    Outgoing Mail Server: mail.eim.ae
For outgoing, you need to click on the Server Settings button, then type the outgoing and insert 25 for server port.

Sorry my mistake, as Ziad pointed out, outgoing is also mail.eim.ae (or mail.emirates.net.ae).
