Well, it seems to be a problem with your router - which one are you using? Most recent models support uPNP or NAT-PMP, so have you checked to see if it's enabled?

    Hi derobertson,
UPNP is enabled in my router, and I use aztech router provided from Etisalat.

Have a look at Mac OS X v10.5 and later: About Back to My Mac security - it might be worthwhile specifically opening incoming access to ports 443 (TCP) and 4500 (UDP) as that seems to work for some people. Another option is to use dyndns - look at Use DynDNS for better success with Back To My Mac

Hope that helps - I think it is pretty buggy for many people. My set up is with a Time Capsule, and I have no problems, but I know people who do, even with an all-apple set up!
