For the iphone users
found an app called 'global free wifi'. Can either do a search by typing in the city or even better just hit the 'near me' button and it gives all the spots within a radius of your location.
It's a great application, I have been using it for awhile, and very accurate information.
I cant find the app on itunes store.

The intersection of 4th and 11th street in Abu Dhabi. Someone has an unsecured wifi connection. Great for reading EmiratesMac forum when waiting to make a U-turn at the signal :-)
A bit late I suppose and this might sound odd on a Mac forum. There is an Android app and it's called Wifi Finder. Hope someone finds it handy!
