Iflexs, did you sign up for our User Group? Having an account on the site is not the same as a membership in the User Group. We have our next meeting on 3rd of November so sign up for the User Group and come to the meeting if you can. Details about the meeting will be posted shortly.

Thanks again EmiratesMac. I'm really pleased that I found this site and the information about the Mac User Group in the UAE. Since I purchased my iMac, earlier this year I thought I'm all alone with my Apple, as I could hardly find any one here in Dubai, with an Apple computer and really haven't had any one to talk & discuss computing on Mac OX (I mean, personal home users and not those Apples @ ad/Media companies). Every where I go, be @ office, gatherings, computer market place, it is all about PCs and Windows ! I have to say, I came across info about this site, while I was browsing some info about PDAs, I guess through palmdubai.net site. Just been @ EmiratesMac site only a day, I realise, this is brilliant place to learn & share ideas/thoughts about computing on Apple - very many thanks to you & all the team, who have been involved in pioneering the User Group & the site! But EmiratesMac, I wonder how many people really know that there is a great User Group like this is in place for Mac users in the UAE ? Not too sure, whether it would be a good idea if you have some information (something like a flyer, brochure) available about this User Group @ MacStores in Dubai, so that any Mac user, particularly if there are new buyers would know where to seek help, assistance if needed. Thanks SG

Thanks for all the kinds words. A couple of months ago we printed 1,000 A5 flyers and placed them in the MacStore in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Last I checked I think they were out in Dubai, but we'll look into printing more and putting them in the store. I hope this site and the user group can help you. Both are here to help anyone, from beginners to advanced users. We hope to be able to offer something to everyone but what we offer depends very much on you - the users and members. Any good ideas about how to spread information about EmiratesMac is greatly appreciated. We're doing pretty well in search engines but that is only one piece of the puzzle, so to speak. We certainly can't afford any paid-for advertising (printing the flyers for the store is stretching the non-existing budget

I think many of us would have blogs or other websites. If we create a standardised logo sort of thing for websites it would gives us publicity even if on a small scale. I did see the emiratemac logo on a popular UAE blog but I think that the size is a tad too big and it did not stand out, it looked a part of that blog itself. Ofcourse the site owner can crop the size, but still the logo in itself only does not convey comprehensive information. Maybe if one of us could create something like the "I power blogger" sort of tags. Or something that can show our affiliation to EmiratesMac. What say?

I think that's a wonderful idea, inurv2, and I would invite anyone that wants to contribute to do so. I created a new thread for this.
