Here is another interesting and intriguing article :

Questions swirl around Mac clone maker Psystar | One More Thing - CNET News.com

Its almost like a detective story. Dont really know what to think, Its all sort fishy if not hilarious. Amongst other notes of intrigue it turns out that the author who designed the EFI v8 emulator "to violate a company's licensing agreement is annoyed that another company is using that software in violation of his own licensing agreement?".

At the wend it will probably all just fade into the wind and find a final resting place next to CherryOS. But what a headline it was... (or will, still...be)

Ah, CherryOS, that brings back memories. CherryOS and the Open Mac has a way to go to beat "Duke Nukem: Forever" though - "in development" for 11 years now

Psystar seems to be having a field day in the press. Remember, the golden rule of PR pros - All press is good press. I have always wondered why Apple never shut down the OSx86 project down? It was against the EULA. Now, the issue is EULA is going to be hard to enforce and I think it can also lead to questions being asked about the clause which says, "You are entitled to use this Apple Software on one Apple Labelled Hardware Product." Now, the questions could be asked and issues raised on whether that's a behavior that closes down a customers choice - which could lead to some lengthy court battles and may in effect drive a lot of open source folks over to OSx86 project just to bring down the big guy. Linux got a boost after the Microsoft Anti Trust trials began because many people felt it was a way of getting back at Microsoft.

But, Apple has something that Microsoft does not have - an user lead community that can defend Apple tooth and nail.

It's either going to be interesting or its all going to end with a dud with so much being written about (or written off - depending on how you see it) about Psystar as a viable company. There are interesting days ahead for Mac lovers.

Psystar exposed as a hoax

It looks like it is all over for Psystar. Gizmodo is running an article stating that they have been exposed as frauds. They have changed their business address in Florida several times over the past week. None of these addresses have anything to do with Psystar, and they are no longer taking orders for their openMAC.

Well it looks like Psystar is not really a Hoax - as I previously reported Gizmodo is running a video of a psystar box running OSX in the wild. It looks the company is indeed up, running, and shipping product.

...its Testing time for Psystar Open Computer.

Macworld brought one.
they opened it and are now testing.

Because we think it’s informative to see how OS X performs on a computer that isn’t a Mac, Macworld ordered a Psystar Open Computer about a week or so ago. The machine, which Psystar touts as a low-cost alternative to Apple’s hardware, has arrived in our lab, where we plan to put it to the test, just like the home-made Mac built by our own Rob Griffiths.
