IMC Not selling new Macs with Leopard Called up the Ibn Batuta store store today for an inquiry on a new iMac and imagine my surprise when the rep said that Leopard is neither installed nor bundled on the iMacs and that I have to buy it separately. Alternatively, wait for the new stock to come in with Leopard pre-installed, but he had no idea on when that may be. Nice work IMC.

Okay, here's what we figured out: for iStyle customers that bought a computer between the 1st and the 25th of October, they are entitled to a special update Leopard package at AED69. Anyone that bought or will buy a Mac on or after the 26th of October with no Leopard pre-installed will be entitled for the update pack at no cost. The update packages are not available yet (same story with Leopard family packs). The message from iStyle is that for customers who place orders now, staff will call them to pick up the update pack for free once in stock.

Even Apple US not providing Leopard pre installed so it is not IMC's fault. Also, I think Apple and Apple IMC ME do not have good communications probably due to Apple's obsession with secrecy, so they are unable to give the correct answers. I heard that they are release a much sexy slimmer mbp for the holiday season and it will come preinstalled with leopard, anyways I had planned for a new year purchase so I am relaxing Apple is claiming on its website that any mac comes preinstalled with Leopard, thought people are not confirming whether it is a upgrade dvd disk or it comes preinstalled

Apple is providing Leopard free to anyone purchasing an Mac. I recently read a review where the Leopard DVD was present inside a new iMac the day that Leopard was launched. This is what I expect. I dont have an issue with Leopard not installed on the system but I do not want to pay for it if I buy a system now. -a

Yes- EmiratesMac clarified that but when I called iStyle and asked the same question, they said that Leopard is neither installed nor available as a free upgrade. I specifically asked them this question twice and both the times the representative misinformed me that I will have to pay for Leopard. -a
