Sound dead

Hmmm, my sound's kinda dead on my MBA... it was working when i left for sheesha, and i come back, and it isn't working, i restart, and the sound thingy is showing me it's muted... i go to the system preferences and it isn't showing me an output device... any ideas? it's kinda very frustrating... nothing's in the audio jack either...

Have you tried resetting the pram?

Do you have nay pending updates?
Have you updated recently?
Is there a red light coming out from the audio socket?

i've tried everything, resetting the pram, all updates are done, no light in the jack... finally, after giving up, i took it to iStyle Abu Dhabi mall, and they didn't figure out what's wrong with it either... the guy there, Richard, called up the service center, and they said it MIGHT be a Flex Cable problem at minimum... if it's not, they might have to change something big.... the Air isn't as good as i thought it was... this is the second big maintainence i've had to do for it, in June, my screen hinge broke and it cost me Dhs2400 to get that fixed... and it's not only me, it's a known problem, the hinge and the sound... Apple needs to get their act together...

trust me, everything had been tried.... EVERYTHING :P nothing works hardware issue... ill give it at the apple store in sydney when i get back...
