Hi,
I'll soon be moving to Abu Dhabi from The Netherlands. I'm wondering if there are any lessons learned from you who preceded me about bringing your kit over and setting up a home office. I have a MacBook Pro, iMac, iPhone and run it all on a wireless router and vpn. Is there anything special I should pick up before the move that would help me set up a similar system quickly and effectively? Any challenges - hardware, software, communication, etc. - you've run into? If I buy an iTV here, will it work over there...with access to Netflix etc?

Thanks,

Hi im sorry if im posting this in a wrong section i didnt know where to post my question
so i was searching online n i see a macbook pro 15" i7 4gb ram 500GB 5400Rpm is about 2100-2200 $

i live in iran n mac is much more expensive here i have to spend about 2800 $ to get that macbook pro .. why pay extra 600 $ when you can use that to upgrade the ram to 8gb & your hard drive to a 7200 rpm?!
so i thought maybe i could buy a macbook pro the next time that i travel to dubai

i wanted to know how much do you pay for a macbook pro in dubai? as i said i7 , 4gb ram

plus , how much extra cash do you need for upgrading to 8 gb ram & 7200 rpm hard

thank you

Hi @LL

I'm a Windows developer (.NET) and I'm new to MAC world. I would like to buy a Mac for developing apps for iPhone, iPod and iPad. Where can I start? I would like to know what hardware and software (SDK) I require to start developing apps. Where can I find MAC store in UAE that sells MAC (Desktop/Laptop) with Arabic keyboard? What about SDK, are they available in stores or should be downloaded from the Internet?

Appreciate any kind of help, thanx a lot...

I bought an iPod Touch 32GB about three months back. Lately when I keep booting my iPod I can't see the proper screen, all I can see is a blank one. If I keep touching or moving the iPod screen with my hands, the screen comes and goes with flickering, just like if you're tuning an old TV!!

Any ideas, hints, tips would be greatly appreciated...thanx.
NB: If you ask me whether I dropped my iPod ever or not, I really don't remember!

I stupidly used the automatic download and many of my video clips are now indispersed in my IPhoto library. I want to import the files properly into IMovie so that they appear in the Imovie chronological events.

I couldn't find any clever way to do this, and got no answer on the apple forum so tediously went through each Iphoto event manually and burnt all my video clips in Iphoto to a disc, then tried to "import" them via Imovie . Imovie recognised them as Iphoto "images" and they appear up the top, in a separate set of events under "Iphoto videos".

I have literally thousands of photos and hundreds of clips dispersed amongst the events. I've literally wasted hours. Does anyone have any suggestions?
