Bought iPhone 3G from eBay

i ordered my iphone 3g from ebay. its currently sitting in the aramex new york office. shop and ship rocks. the iphonedevteam released the pwnage tool 2.0 which can jailbreak (not unlock the iphone 3g). i dont think the unlock is far away. either way, i should be receving the iphone here in dubai by thursday if aramex decides to ship it tomorrow. ill try putting in a turbo sim i have lying around and see if that works with the 3g.

Hi, I hope you received your iphone 3g from Aramex. Even i purchased from ebay and shipped through Aramex. It arrived here in dubai on the 19th. 2 days they told me its in customs for duty payment. The when i followed up they gave me a shock saying it is misplaced.

I have shipped my Macbook, my 1sr Gen. i phone along with other items through aramex, but how come they misplaced my 3G iphone which i was dying for. Now i am waiting with crossed hands as they told me 5 days investigation to find my iphone. i doubt it was stolen due to high demand here in UAE.

They agreed to pay me compensation, i told them compensation is the last thing i need, what i need is my misplaced iphone. If they cannot locate my iphone can i ask them to get me a replacement. i.e a new 3g iphone?

I have ordered an other 3G as well and it is sitting in arames JFK. I insured the same for Aed70.00, after this misplacement as per aramex suggestion.

Please advice me how to go about it.

thanks

Wow you must want one really badly. And did you really insure it for only AED70? If so, what's the point of that? Surely you paid a lot more for it?

What does Aramex Terms and Conditions say about lost items? That should spell out what your options are.

Most couriers won't re compensate unless the item is insured.
If it is, it is insured for the declared value.
Regardless of the actual value.

The misplaced iPhone 3G was not insured, but Aramex promised me to compensate for the same.

The other iPhone that i purchased through ebay is sitting in JFK Aramex, which i insured for the full value and the insurance premium i paid is AED70.00.

I an expecting it to arrive coming sunday.

Thanks

I had so many bad experiences with Aramex in the past and they still owe me money. Meanwhile I ship everything by fedex or UPS if possible and I have no problems ever since.

same with me. ive had a bad experience with aramex also. 3 of my iphones are stuck with aramex. the status for them for the past 4 days has been "flight delayed/offloaded" etc. im calling them and they have no idea about when it will be shipped again. their online tracking is really useless. the dont update it at all some times. they are a disgrace to courier companies. but hey, theyre the cheapest online shopping service, so we're kinda stuck with them.
