I have the option to buy the iphone now or wait until the legal version is going to come out here..... but will it be made clear on jan 2008(when exactly)????.........i just cant wait!!...ur opinions please.....thx

Simple, no one knows when (or if) it'll be officially sold here, or if they do they're not saying in public.

True but why cant apple make iphone like other phones whats this locked stuff...they are the reason there is hacked phones!!!

Issue of locking or not has been discussed so much. We can only accept the reality of the situation and deal with it as best we can.

And where did you read/hear about Bahrain and March? Unless it's official news out of Apple IMC ME, I wouldn't trust it much.

But that's not official in any way, what it says is:

Nadeem Khan, central merchandising manager for electronics at Geant, said the unlocked iPhones had been purchased from a dealer in Dubai. “The official launch of the phone here is March, 2008, and our customers have been pleading with us to find some stock as soon as possible.

So it's a merchandising manager for Geant that says it. Who knows what he knows. I mean he may be right but as far as I can tell there's no reason to take what he says particularly seriously. That he says it's "official" doesn't make it so.

How do I put this lightly...he's a moron.

Basically, he also tells customers that 1.0.0 (which they sell) is the only version that works unlocked. They tell customers it has GPS, and that is has a 1 year warranty.

Just low level crooks really.

But who am I to judge...
