Hi,

just had 1 ipod, before I was using blackberry ..... so my current setup is the 185 formula from etisalat, what i have to do to have some EDGE or GPRS on my Iphone .... ? I tried the APN etisalat.ae and let blank .... but it give me edge not suscribed ... start to be mad ....

That works with postpaid Etisalat. Blackberry's been discussed on the site before and consensus was that you can't use your iPhone on the 'berry data plan.

hey edge is paid as u use it with iPhone there is no fixed pakage if you want to use it go to settings-general-edge and fill I'm etisalat.ae and leave the rest blank it should be working now

The consensus is ... you can use EDGE over your berry plan on the iPhone ... it'll just cost you 185 + 2fils/kb usage.

Ok guys i have taken heed and took out my etisalat chip and popped it back in to the BB Curve. , had a spare DU sim pay as u go and popped it in to the i phone and the edge works great on it as well.

If you have a BB plan with etisalat thats dh185 per month + your calls. you will recieve edge support no matter whether if you have BB or not and that is charged at 2fils per KB.

DU charges 1 fil per KB and they also have a packages available for moderate internet users, if you just send send a few email as text and face book and update the weather it should suffice on the basic package. Still insane prices. at least they offer it though.

So the down low is if you have subscribed to BB it is no use as you will still be charged per kb and its not included in the plan, although i have read reports on the net stating that they are working on a BB port for i phone. "unconfirmed"

I'm happy for NOW to use my BB for work and the i phone for personal matters after work. I hate having the BB around constantly buzzing away.

Etisalat help us data hungry joe's out and get us a package for data at a monthly plan as the i phone emails and browsers work great.

Hey there.
The settings for EDGE data on:

DU:
Just type in du in settings/general/network/EDGE/APN/du username/du password du

Etisalat"
Just type in etisalat in settings/general/network/EDGE/APN/etisalat
username and password left blank you can also ry etisalat.ae for APN.

BE WARNED:
Etisalat charges 2fils per kb and du charges 1fil per kb over time it will get very expensive so please use carefully and it does not matter if you have a bb connection as it just works and bills separately.

every time i try to set the edge after i type etisalat.ae and press enter it takes me back to main page witout taking the setting.

any suggestions.
