iPhone on a plane What will happen when you are on a plane and you want to listen to the iPod but you are not allowed to have the phone on? I understand that soon Emirates will allow you to use your phone on a flight but will this be an industry standard soon and therefore not a valid point?

My guess would be that you can turn off the phone and still keep using all the other functions of the iPhone. Like in a Palm Treo, you can turn off the phone and still keep using it for everything else.

snakes on a plane... bears on a train I think EmiratesMac is right on this one. The iphone will (hopefully) have a GSM / wireless signal shut off, which will hopefully not effect the device. The Sony Ericsson P800 and 900, the blackberries and the treo 680s and I am sure a load of other phones already have this feature. daN
