Shufflegazine no more

Apparently an email was circulated yesterday to members of Dubai's PR and tech community announcing that Crystal and I are no longer working for Centimetercube and that Shufflegazine is no longer in production.

On behalf of Crystal and myself we'd like to thank you guys for all the support and encouragement you've given us through the years, first with Shuffle then with Shufflegazine.

We've come to know a lot of great people, made some really good friends, had some good times and above all, seen that the dedication and perseverance of a small group of people can make a difference in the world despite the odds seeming very long at times.

As you may recall, Shufflegazine was produced by a few EmiratesMac members as the free Shuffle newsletter for almost two years before it became the commercial magazine Shufflegazine.

Shuffle was truly a community effort and we always saw Shufflegazine as being the same. There was a lot of input from many of you and you don't know how much we appreciated that.

Hopefully we can bring you some news soon about the future.

With regards to EmiratesMac.com and EMUG there are no plans to change anything.

Any reason for stopping it ? This magazine was given to the members and even in many stores here free of charge if am not mistaken.

Its not a happy news bcos shufflegazine was the only one magazine where Mac lovers could find news about Apple updates, product details and such info; and it used to be very friendly for new comers.

Hope we all could hear a good news soon.

At this point its not for me to comment on the reasons, that question should be directed at the company and its ownership.

EMUG members got a free subscription to the magazine but it was never given away for free in stores. It was sold in retails outlets along with other magazines. The predecessor to Shufflegazine, Shuffle, was given away for free in many stores.

Am I reading too much into the first word in your post "Apparently" but it does sound like something you were unprepared for? I have just been on Shuffgazine website and there was no info, but it seems that all news entries and press releases are by you and the majority of the blog entries are by you.

The "apparently" was because I never received the email myself, I was told about it by others and yes the email I was unaware of before it went out.

Yes, Shufflegazine was pretty much produced by myself: blog, magazine, podcast etc. Hopefully that can continue in some way, we'll see what happens.

It's not for me to comment on that, quite simply I don't know and I'm not employed by the company anymore so that question should be directed at the company and its ownership.

This is very sad news indeed. In spite of the fact that I often criticized separate articles, I very much appreciate your effort putted into that. Shufflegazine and this site is the ONLY local source of news about Mac.

This is very sad news. While Sufflegazine's purpose was to provide local news about Macs and other Apples products it gave me, over here in New Jersey, a different angle on those things. An angle that I appreciated and will miss. I'll be looking for news of your future plans and continue as a long range supporter.
