It appears I've seriously neglected the blog side of the site, which has resulted in tons of spam being posted. It's all deleted now and until I figure out a better way to handling it, I've turned off the blogging privileges for registered users. If you want to blog right now, let me know and I can turn it on for you.
Any user on this site can now have their own blog. Blog about anything you want to but keep it tech and Apple related, please. Once you've started your blog you can find it on a URL like http://www.emiratesmac.com/forums/blogs/magnus/, just replace "magnus" with your username. There'll also be a RSS feed just for your blog, like http://www.emiratesmac.com/forums/blogs/magnus/feed.rss. Again replace "magnus" with your username. Feed that RSS feed to your Twitter account, Facebook ...
Seems the site works much better on iPhone since the upgrade. That's great. There is ni iPhone-specific version of the site but chances are ther will be something coming out in the future.
I couldn't figure out how to add the code for Google Analytics to the site after upgrading but I found the solution here.
Okay, it's not every day that you upgrade a web site to a completely new version of the software that runs it but today I did. We went from vBulletin 3.8.4 to 4.0.1. We've been using a system together with vBulletin that is called vbSEO and basically it rewrites URLs so they are more search engine friendly.
